A friend actually told me this story yesterday, but I thought it more appropriate to post on a day other than Mother's Day:
My friend is terrified of flying. Several years ago, he was bumped up to business class on a cross-country trip. He and his seatmate (they'd never met before and were of different races), started pounding down the free alcohol. His fear melted away. He insists they were not disruptive or loud at all, but at some point, only shortly into the flight, they ordered another round and the flight attendant informed them, "I'm so sorry, but I won't be able to serve you any more alcohol."
My friend freaked out. He still had a few more hours to go and knew as soon as the liquor wore off, his terror would return. Actually, he was becoming terrified just thinking about his terror returning.
He walked over to the galley where the flight attendant was preparing the meal and said, "I just wanted to appologize. I also want you to know that my sister and I are not usually like this, but we're on our way to our mother's funeral."
The alcohol flowed the rest of the flight.

It's always a good lesson to remember that we never know what someone is going through and we all have times when we are in need of someones compassion...that being said, I would have kept the alcohol coming only "watered" down: )

Very smart. They were so plowed, they probably would not have noticed, and it sounds like they could have used the non-alcoholic liquid.
